The verification exercise for Rep. Bassey Akiba’s Cooperative Scheme on Sunday, May 11, commenced with an overwhelming participation of cooperative members.
A release from The Bridge Media said, palpable excitement fielded the air in Creek Town 2, Odukpani Local Government Area, as the Chairman, Cooperative Implementation Committee, Prof. Charles O’Neil, reaffirmed Rep. Akiba’s commitment to positively impacting lives and livelihoods in his federal constituency through the cooperative scheme.
Cooperative members welcomed the exercise with joy and commendations, expressed confidence in the process and hailed the federal lawmaker for his visionary leadership.
“We have never seen this level of engagement from a representative before. This verification shows that he is committed to implementing the cooperative programme. We are proud to have him as our representative”, they said.
The cooperative scheme, a brainchild of the Member representing Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency, has been widely recognized as one of the most practical and impactful interventions, reinforcing his focus on inclusive development, transparency, and empowerment.
As the verification exercise gains momentum across political wards in Odukpani LGA, the people remain optimistic that the much-touted Livelihoods Support Programme through Cooperatives will bring economic prosperity and progress.
