The Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Akwa Ibom State, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, has commended members of the Christian community for their continuous efforts in promoting activities that foster human development and advance the Kingdom of God.
In a press release from her Media Unit, Lady Obareki gave the commendation on Sunday, October 26, at Qua Iboe Church, Adadiaha Road, Ikot Ekpene, during the 2025 Association Week, Thanksgiving and Fundraising Service of the Church with the theme : “Rewards of the Faithful.”
She lauded the members of the church for their commitment to the development of the church, through the week long activities which saw the 13 associations in the church actively participate in church growth events, praying that they would soon reap bountiful rewards.
Represented by the President of the Eket Senatorial District Women’s Forum, Mrs. Idara Ephraim Akpan, Lady Obareki reaffirmed her commitment to alleviating the plight of the vulnerable and less privileged through the Golden Initiative for All, GIFA.

The Coordinator who appreciated the leadership and congregation of the Qua Iboe Church for their steadfastness in serving God and humanity, also made a donation towards the purchase of a coaster bus for the church.
In a sermon, the General Superintendent and Chairman of Conference of Qua Iboe Church, Rev. Ekpedeme Efanga, represented by the Provost of the Samuel Bill Theological College, Abak, Rev. Ifiok Otu, emphasized that faithfulness in serving God yields divine rewards.
Speaking on the topic, “The Reward of Faithfulness,” Rev. Efanga explained that true faithfulness means remaining steadfast in one’s commitments, relationships and promises. He outlined the rewards of faithfulness to include preservation, blessings, provision, and protection, citing Biblical examples such as Mordecai, Ruth, and Zechariah, whose faithfulness brought them great rewards.
The service featured praise and worship, thanksgiving, intercessory prayers for the church and government leaders and a fundraising session.
