The Senior Special Assistant, SSA to Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State on Ethical Orientation, Rev. Osondu Ahirika, PhD, has hailed his boss as a nationalist, detribalised leader and true patriot who has risen above ethnic bigotry
Dr Ahirika who spoke on the radio current affairs programme, Press Hub, aired on Montage 99.7 FM, Abuja, on Saturday thanked Governor Umo Eno for his magnanimity in appointing him his SSA on Ethical Orientation, observing that the Governor’s policy of inclusivity is what is needed for greater cohesion and unity in nation building describing him as a true believer in one Nigeria.
The SSA observed that President Bola Tinubu demonstrated this virtue as Governor of Lagos State by appointing competent persons from other States and tribes, which shaped his pan-Nigerian viewpoints and prepared him for his current position as President and Commander in Chief.
Governor Eno he added has created a conducive environment for every citizen or resident in the State to thrive irrespective of his tribe or tongue through intentional good governance and focused implementation of the ARISE Agenda.
Dr Ahirika said the legacy of detribalized leadership will stand Governor Eno out on the national stage like his counterpart in Abia State, Governor Alex Otti who appointed Edo State-born, Benson Ojeikere in a historic move as Head of Civil Service without any ethnic bias.
He stressed that Nigeria as a nation would be transformed and achieve its full potentialities when our ethical and sociocultural values of integrity, patriotism, tolerance, industry and discipline are reinforced to guide our national codes of conduct.
