Gov. Otu Carries Out Minor Media Shake Up, Gets Third CPS in Two Years .

Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu has carried out a minor shake up in his media management team.

To this effect Mr. Lunus Obogo who was Special Adviser on Media and Publicity is now the Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor.

While the  former Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Nsa Gill, has been reappointed as the Special Adviser on Public Affairs to the Governor.

The announcement was made in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. A. Owan Enoh, on Tuesday..

“Obogo’s appointment is in line with the administration’s commitment to strengthening its information machinery for effective and responsive communication,” the statement noted.

The statement further stated that the strategic initiative aims to bolster the flow of information between the government and the public, ensuring that citizens are well-informed and engaged.

On the other hand, Gill’s new role will focus on deepening the interface between the government and the public, promoting clarity, engagement, and transparency in communication efforts.

With these appointments effective immediately, both Obogo and Gill are expected to play key roles in enhancing the overall effectiveness of the Cross River State government’s communication strategy, reinforcing the administration’s dedication to responsive governance.

Obogo’s appointment brings to three the number of Chief Press Secretaries Governor Otu will have within two years in office.

The first was Emmanuel Obeche who was redeployed to Abuja as Special Adviser to the Governor on Media barely few months of his appointment as Chief Press Secretary. Gill then followed and now Obogo.
