Gov Eno Bags Prestigious Cultural Ambassador Award

The National Commission for Museums and Monuments has honoured the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno,PhD with a Prestigious Cultural Ambassador Award for the development of Culture and Tourism in Nigeria.

The award was presented at an event to mark the 2025 International Museum Day, held at the China Cultural Centre Dabala street, Abuja.

The event which had as its theme: “The Future Of Museum In Rapidly Changing Communities”, saw the Governor eulogized for his investments and support to the promotion of culture and tourism in the country.

“Your nomination for this prestigious award is as a result of your immense contributions to the development of Culture and Tourism in Nigeria”, the Director General (DG) of National Museums and Monuments, Olugbile Holloway said while presenting the award to the Governor.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Eno, represented by the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr Anieti Udofia, expressed his commitment to developing tourism as a high revenue earner in the State.

Some of the lofty tourism development programmes noted include, the ARISE Park and Resort, the recommencement of work at the Tropicana Hotel as well as the Convention Centre, the Unity Park and Event Centre and the Oron Marine development project, among others.

The Commissioner was accompanied to the event by members of the Akwa Ibom State Community and Staff of the State’s Liaison Office in Abuja.
