Finance and Appropriation Committee Chairman Sues For Unity Among Members.

The Cross River State House of Assembly Finance and Appropriation Committee Chairman, Hon Okon Nyong Owuna has reiterated the need for members of the newly reconstituted committee to work in unity so as to achieve expected results.

Hon Owuna who represents Akamkpa 1 State Constituency was speaking during the maiden meeting of the Commitee held in his office at the Assembly’s Complex in Calabar.

The Legislator expressed delight at the constitution of the Committee  while also stating his confidence that, with the calibre of membership and secretariat, the Commitee will surely deliver on its mandate.

“I welcome all Members to our first meeting. I am very confident that all of us will put in our best in our service to the Assembly and the State. I am happy to see that the Clerk of the House is the Secretary of this Committee. Owuna said.

He thanked the Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Elvert Ayambem for the opportunity given to the Committee to serve while pledging the Committee’s readiness to work in tandem with the “People First” mantra of the State Governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu.

“By the powers conferred on the Speaker, he has appointed us to serve in the Finance and Appropriation Committee of the House. I thank him for this opportunity and l promise that we will work together to ensure that we justify his confidence on us.”

Also speaking a Member of the Committee, Hon Samuel Neji Abang who represents Ikom 1 State Constituency, reiterated the commitment of the members to the achievements of the ideals of the Finance and Appropriation Commitee.

On his part, Hon Odey Brian Wonah ( Yala 1) assured that the Committee will enthrone proper budget procedures and implementation to enhance the overall improvement of the State.

Other Members of the Committee who were present at the meeting include, Hon Thomas Aruku (Ogoja), Hon Omang Omang (Bekwara), and Hon Egbe Abeng Egbe (Obubra 2)
