The explosion of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Nyesom Wike and few others from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has been hailed as the right step in the right direction for justice.

The PDP Advocates For Peace and Justice (PAPAJ) in release at weekend, by its National Chairman, Dr. Tom FredFish, described the expulsion as a necessary step towards part sanity and rebirth.

The group commended the PDP for the courageous and constitutionally grounded decision to expel certain members whose actions have consistently undermined the unity, stability, and electoral strength of the party.

“This bold step, taken at the Elective National Convention held in Ibadan on the 15th and 16th of November 2025, reflects a long-awaited determination to restore discipline, uphold party supremacy, and reposition the PDP for the challenges and responsibilities ahead.

For years, the party has grappled with internal division fueled by individuals who openly engaged in anti-party activities while still occupying strategic positions within the PDP. Their actions not only weakened the party’s electoral prospects but also sowed seeds of discord at the national and state levels”, the group said..

PAPAJ said the expulsion of Nyesom Wike, Ayo Fayose, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Umar Bature, and others is therefore a clear statement that the PDP will no longer serve as a platform for betrayal, sabotage, or opportunistic politics.

As an organization dedicated to peace, justice, and the preservation of democratic values within the PDP, the group said, “we applaud the National Convention for finally drawing a line between loyalty and treachery. No political party can grow when its own leaders actively work against it, and no institution can survive when the spirit of its constitution is disregarded by those who benefit from it.

“This decisive action represents a cleansing necessary for the revitalization of the party. It reassures faithful members nationwide that discipline remains a core pillar of the PDP and that no individual, regardless of past influence, can hold the party hostage or weaken its structures from within”.

The Chairman of the PAPAJ therefore called on all party members to rally behind this courageous decision and use this moment as a foundation for rebuilding, reconciliation, and renewed internal order. The party must now focus on strengthening its democratic processes, empowering grassroots structures, and preparing for future political engagements with unity and clarity of purpose.

“We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the ideals of the PDP and pledge to continue advocating for transparency, loyalty, peace, and justice within the party.

“The future of the PDP begins with discipline and this bold step marks the beginning of a new era”, the group concluded.
