With the gale of defections from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress, (APC) continuing, the immediate past deputy governorship candidate of the PDP in Cross River State, Dr Emana Duke Ambrose-Amawhe, has explained why she dumped her former party for the ruling party in the State.

Speaking at a grand reception party organized by the State chapter of the APC in Calabar, weekend, the former PDP strong lady said Governor Bassey Otu’s all-inclusive leadership style was the reason for joining the APC.

She added that within few years in office, the Governor has practically touched the lives of almost all Cross Riverians with his ‘People First’s agenda.

“Gov Otu has touched our lives irrespective of party affiliation, creed, tribe or religion. He is driving investments and ensuring security of our lives and property across the State unlike before.

“I do not take this for granted because as a farmer from Akpabuyo local government area of the State, I know how things used to be in Akpabuyo before he came on board.

“Today, I can go freely to my farmlands with peace of mind. People can now sleep with their two eyes closed in that area under the watch of Gov. Bassey Otu,”she maintained.

Ambrose -Amawhe lauded Governor Otu for joining force with President Bola Tinubu to ensure that the renewed hope agenda of the President come to fruition.

On how she finally left the PDP, the Broadcaster-cum-politician said “We made up our minds that yesterday is far gone and that today wouldn’t be too late so we jumped into the train because the train was moving towards the right direction with the right person steering it.

“Again, we did not want to be outside from the team that makes things happen. When we joined, the party leaders told me that although my supporters and I fought the APC during the 2023 general elections they would open their door for us and here we are.”
