Still banking in the euphoria of recording two away victories in the ongoing 2025/2026 Nigeria National League hostilities, the Chairman of Akwa United FC of Uyo, Joseph Eno has assured that the Uyo Crowd Pullers will continue to work hard in an effort to actualise the Governor’s mandate of taking the Club back to the elite division when the chips are finally down.
Exchanging views with Pillar Today sports in Calabar soon after Akwa United had humbled their arch-rivals, the Rovers FC 2 – 0 at the Brigadier U.J Esuene Stadium, the Akwa United Chairman described the victory as hard fought and congratulated his boys for a job well done.
The Akwa United boss told sports journalists that in a competition of this nature, teams clamouring for promotio
must strive to win Away from Home stressing that the Promise keepers had recently achieved that feat against First Bank FC in Lagos and now Rovers FC in Calabar.
He expressed optimism that the Akwa United FC will continue to keep the flag flying and remained focus having been motivated by their sports loving Governor.
He used that forum to thank the state Governor, Pastor Umo Eno for his continued support to the Club which he said remained a unifying factor for the entire people of Akwa Ibom State.
