The Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, has said that the state is already experiencing the positive effects of Governor Umo Eno’s recent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Senator Eyakenyi disclosed this on Thursday, June 26, while speaking at the June edition of the Akwa Ibom Women’s monthly Prayer Service tagged ‘God is at Work”, held at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Uyo.
This was contained in a release dated June 26, from the Media Unit, Office of the First Lady, Akwa Ibom State.
She said, “I stand as an insider to tell you that glory has started dropping in Akwa Ibom State. We have started receiving and we have started having. The Governor has made the right choice and he is taking us in the right direction”.
The Deputy Governor thanked Pastor Eno for leading the state in peace and urged the women to not only live in unity but also continue to support the Governor in his vision to bring development and prosperity to the state.
“I stand here to thank the Governor for accepting God to use him to bring peace to Akwa Ibom State. As women, I want us to be united. As women, I want us to stand by Pastor Umo Eno to ensure that this good vision sees the daylight,” she said.
On her part, the Coordinator, Office of the First Lady and Convener of the Akwa Ibom State Women Monthly prayer, Lady Helen Eno Obareki took the Bible reading from Philippians 2:13 and 2Kings 7: 1- 10.
The Reverend Grace Idem delivering homily on the topic “God is at Work,” using Philippians 2:13 as her biblical reference, reminded the women that, regardless of any seemingly hopeless situations or insurmountable circumstances, God is always at work to perform miracles and transform negativity into testimonies.
The service witnessed Thanksgiving sessions by the clergy of the Akwa Ibom Women Monthly Prayer, the Female Vice Chairmen of Local Government Councils in the state, as well as celebrations for women born in May and June.
