The people of Oron Local Government Area (LGA) of Akwa Ibom state have pledged total support for the re-election Governor Umo Eno, and President Bola Tinubu come 2027.
The Oron people also pledged loyalty for the All Progressive Congress (APC) just as Governor Eno on Tuesday intensified political mobilisation in Oron LGA, urging women and party stakeholders to strengthen civic participation for the 2027 general elections.
The governor spoke through his deputy, Sen. Akon Eyakenyi, during the continuation of the Women Sensitization Tour on Civic Responsibilities, which was held earlier in the LGA.
Eyakenyi said Gov. Eno has reunited Akwa Ibom State in fulfillment of his campaign promises, noting that the administration’s inclusive governance approach has strengthened political unity across the state.
She urged women to actively participate in civic and political processes, particularly by registering with the All Progressives Congress through the ongoing electronic registration exercise, which she said would end on Friday.
“There is an ongoing APC e-registration. It is not manual. Women are encouraged to register because through this data, the president will know the number of registered members of the party in Akwa Ibom and in Nigeria,” she said.
Eyakenyi said the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been supportive of Akwa Ibom State, adding that the appropriate response was to deliver massive votes for the president in 2027.
She also called for support for Senate President Godswill Akpabio, describing his emergence as historic as the first Senate president from the South-South in 45 years, and urged residents to work towards returning Gov. Eno to office in 2027.
Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, thanked the people of Oron for their consistent support for the governor in the past and present, urging them to remain steadfast ahead of 2027.
She said, early political preparation would translate into electoral success and called on residents to stand by the governor in the next general elections.
The member representing Oron Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr. Martins Esin, urged residents to complete both their electronic and ward-level APC registration, describing party mobilisation as key to sustaining support for the governor’s re-election.
Member representing Oron State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Nkenim Onofiok, said Oron was politically prepared for the 2027 elections, noting that voter registration and party e-registration efforts were ongoing across the area.

In his remarks, Chairman of Oron Local Government Area, Mr. Asuquo Enweme, described the deputy governor’s visit as a major political moment for the area.
He said the turnout, despite the day being a major market day, demonstrated the people’s commitment to the administration, adding that Oron, as the home of the deputy governor, would deliver overwhelming support for Gov. Eno.
“As far as Oron is concerned, there is only one party, which is the APC,” he said.
Earlier, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon. Inibehe Silas Etukudoh, set the tone for the event, thanking the deputy governor for returning to her home local government to engage women directly.
She encouraged women to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards, describing the PVC as the authority to sustain APC-led governments at both the state and national levels.
Etukudoh said the governor had approved health sensitisation and medical outreach for women, alongside the formation of cooperatives to strengthen their economic participation.
Special Adviser, Bureau of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Rt. Hon. Alice Ekpenyong, said cooperatives would be formed across the 11 wards in Oron Local Government Area under the ARISE Cooperatives initiative to support women economically.
She urged women to obtain their PVCs and complete their APC registration to fully benefit from government programmes.
Former Commissioner for Culture and Delivery Adviser to the governor, Mr. Oman Esin, urged residents to consolidate their support for Gov. Eno and the APC.
Goodwill messages followed from party leaders and elected officials. The APC chapter women leader, Mrs. Alice Etim, said Oron women were fully mobilised and ready to deliver total support in 2027.
Organisers said the Women Sensitization Tour would continue in other LGAs of the state as part of broader efforts to deepen civic awareness, strengthen grassroots political structures and consolidate support for the administration ahead of 2027.
