The Board of the University of Calabar Printing and Publishing Press Limited has reappointed Dr. Mathias Sunday as Managing Director (MD) for a second term of four years, effective December 1, 2024, to November 30, 2028.
According to a letter signed by the Chairman of the Board and Vice Chancellor of UniCal, Prof. Florence Obi, and the Board Secretary, Barr. Jonas Abuo, the appointment was approved at the Board’s meeting on July 21, 2025.
The letter stated that Dr. Sunday would not be placed on a salary but will be paid allowances payable to Board members, and that he is expected him to take charge of the day-to-day running of the press, focusing on optimal service delivery and profitability.
This reappointment, however, highlights the Board’s confidence in Dr. Sunday’s leadership and expertise, demonstrating their trust in his ability to drive the Unical Printing and Publishing Press Limited to new levels of success
