Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Research and Documentation, Dr. Essien Ndueso
In further alignment with the empowerment initiatives of the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Research and Documentation, Dr. Essien Ndueso, has instituted a N1.6m Broadcast training grant for some indigent young people in the State.
The financial support is specifically designed to facilitate the beneficiaries’ enrollment in the Six weeks Basic Courses Batch C professional certificate programmes at the National Broadcast Academy (NBA), Lagos.
A release by the Special Assistant to the Governor’s Aide, Mr Samuel Anthony, disclosed that the beneficiaries shall be presented with cheques of ₦200,000 each, tomorrow, Saturday, at Dr Ndueso’s office, Press Centre, Government House, Uyo.
The beneficiaries cut across the three senatorial districts of the State.
Among those expected as Guests at the occasion, is the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council, Comrade Nsibiet John and some media aides to the Governor.
The National Broadcast Academy offers courses in Broadcast Production, Presentation Techniques, Journalism and News Writing, Media Marketing, Broadcast Engineering, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and Digital Studio Management.
According to Mr Samuel Anthony, the empowerment initiative by Dr Ndueso, will provide the selected practitioners with the skills, exposure, and certification required to advance their careers and raise professional standards in the media industry.
The beneficiaries were drawn from media practitioners who, some weeks ago, responded to an open call in select media forum, inviting interested persons to indicate their readiness for the training opportunity. Those who applied for the programme, were shortlisted for the grant.
The training commences on Monday October 3, 2025.
